We're Sophia and Laura, sisters-in-law, creative partners, and two London girls who somehow ended up making some of our best work surrounded by fields and fresh air.

You might know us as Sophia Frances Studio. We've loved every chapter of that name, but as the studio has grown, evolved, and found its feet, it felt like the right moment for something that better reflects who we are today. Studio Hass is us, fully. Our name, our family, our work, all in one place. Same two people, same hand-painted fabrics, same obsessive love of pattern. Just a new name on the door to walk through.

Sophia Frances Studio was founded in 2019, born out of a feeling we couldn't quite shake: we couldn't find what we wanted. The fabrics that made our hearts race, painterly, joyful, dripping with colour, just didn't seem to exist in quite the right way. So, as any two completely rational people would do, we decided to make them ourselves. What started as a creative leap of faith has grown into something we're immensely proud of.

Every design starts with Sophia's hand, quite literally. Each one is painted by hand in our studio, slowly and with great love, before being printed onto luxury linen right here in the UK. Made to order, with as little waste as possible. Our linens are ethically farmed in Europe, our packaging is recyclable, and we plant a tree for every order through Trees for Life. We think beautiful things should be made responsibly, and that the two aren't mutually exclusive.

Sophia studied surface pattern design in London, where she fell headfirst down a glorious rabbit hole of forgotten female textile designers, women like Anna Maria Garthwaite, an 18th century genius whose work felt shockingly ahead of its time. Championing those pioneering women is something close to her heart, and their fearless creativity quietly lives in everything we make. Laura's background in interior design means she thinks deeply about how a fabric feels in a room, the way it holds light, changes a mood, transforms a space from just a room into somewhere that really means something.

We're small, intentionally so, and we love it that way. When you work with us, you get us, no middlemen, no automated emails, just two people who really care about what they're making and who they're making it for. We've built some wonderful long-standing relationships with our trade customers over the years, and those connections mean the world to us. We're always excited to build new ones.

Every cloth is printed to order. Every colour is agonised over (lovingly, we promise) until it sings. Nothing leaves the studio unless we'd happily put it in our own homes, and given our homes are full of our own fabric, the bar is high.
